Radon Mitigation Corporation of America, Inc (RMCA), has been providing mitigation services since 1989. RMCA has qualified personnel certified by the National Radon Safety Board and is a licensed home improvement contractor. RMCA has mitigated thousands of homes and uses the lessons learned from prior projects to sharpen its mitigation capabilities every year.
RMCA is the only U.S. based mitigation company to UNIVERSALLY OFFER radon reduction below the World Health Organization's Threshold of 2.7 pCi/L or lower.
Unlike many other radon mitigation companies, RMCA Guarantees reducing radon levels in your home to whichever goal threshold you desire. In many cases we can offer reduction to 1.5 pCi/L, however additional measures may be required beyond our standard offerings to achieve the more aggressive guarantee. If a system does not achieve the guaranteed level, then RMCA returns to upgrade the system at no additional charge to the customer. RMCA provides an industry-leading 10-year warranty to maintain the reduction guarantee (provided that that the radon fan and power source remain functional).
RMCA's Radon Mitigation Lead Experts Include:
David Bredhoff (NRSB RRS 18G006). Mr. Bredhoff grew up learning all about radon testing from his Aunt, Nancy Bredhoff, who literally wrote the business plan for Radon Testing Corporation of America. After attending Cornell and Georgetown Universities and achieving a degrees in public policy and international security studies, he spent the first decade of his career in public service including stints in AmeriCorps, the Peace Corps (Mozambique), and several years of work with the DoD and USAID in Afghanistan. Mr. Bredhoff joined RTCA in 2016 and shifted to leading RMCA in the beginning of 2018 where he quickly found a natural fit with mitigation as the work emphasizes problem solving and executing physically demanding solutions that draw on his less formal background as a collegiate and semi-pro baseball player overseas.
Mr. Bredhoff routinely provides trainings to home inspectors seeking to better understand radon dynamics and system fundamentals so that they can properly test homes and inform homeowners about mitigation methods. He has also been active with ASTM as a collaborator on industry best practices and standards. Mr. Bredhoff revels in working on the most stubborn homes to mitigate which other mitigators may have abandoned or homeowners thought could not be brought down further. The key to his process is a data-driven approach of constantly gathering more information about a home to understand the underlying processes that cause radon entry in order to efficiently and effectively capture as much radon as possible before it can enter a living space.
Matthew DeLorto: RMCA's lead system installer has performed thousands of mitigations since joining RMCA in 2020. Mr. DeLorto takes great pride in his work and will agonize over all aspects of possible system configurations to ensure that they minimally impact either the usable interior space, exterior aesthetics, or quiet enjoyment of the home. In addition to his prolific work with RMCA, Mr. DeLorto is a Veteran of the US Army having served multiple years in Afghanistan, and is a current National Guardsman.
Together, with excellent contributions from other staff members such as Johny Aguierre, RMCA's leadership prides itself in providing the pre-eminent mitigation services in the New York Metro area.
With nearly 30 years of experience in the field of radon measurement and mitigation, you can count on us to get the job done on time and within budget!
The EPA recommends that you consider radon remediation if test results are between 2.0 and 4.0 pCi/L and advises that any living spaces testing above 4.0 pCi/L be mitigated. The World Health Organization has a lower mitigation threshold of 2.7 pCi/L. RMCA specializes in achieving dramatic reduction regardless of your initial radon test results. Whether your pre-test was a 2.5 or 102.5 pCi/L, we have the passion, experience, skills, and perseverance to bring reduce the radon in your home as low as it can possibly go, frequently providing reduction guarantees as low as 1.5 pCi/L or less that far exceed other mitigators

Radon comes from the natural (radioactive) breakdown of uranium and thorium in soil, rock, and groundwater and is found all over the U.S.
You can’t see or smell radon.
Testing is the only way to know your level of exposure.
EPA suggests that Radon levels above 4 pCi/L must be mitigated
Thank you for your quick and tidy work. I was selling my home and needed a radon mitigation system installed. I was on a tight time schedule and RMCA was there to make it happen. Thanks again!
Thank you! From my phone consultation to the work being done, RMCA did a great job.
I was extremely nervous when I tested my basement for radon and it came back over the EPA’s recommended level. I searched for certified professional mitigators in my area and I found RMCA. They came out, put in the system and now my house is at safe level. My kids and I are grateful we can play again downstairs and not worry about radon.
RMCA reduced the radon levels in my house. They were professional and polite. After the job was finished they cleaned up and left my house free of debris.
